Why Blue Tie Night?
We are celebrating 40 years of helping to support the Deer Creek School District and we cannot achieve this mission without donors and sponsors like you! Since 1981, the Deer Creek Schools Foundation, with the help of many generous sponsors, has provided funding for exceptional state-of-the-art programs, supplies, and technology to empower our students to achieve academic excellence.
While these grants have benefited and continue to benefit our students and teachers, the Deer Creek school district still battles fiscal challenges due to rapid growth and a decline in the already low state funding. Based on the numbers for 2020-2021 school year Deer Creek receives $5,952.46 in total state and federal per pupil funding which is far below the average of $8,307.46 in Oklahoma.
Our foundation fundraises to give back to our endowment to serve our growing community and put money into the classrooms across the district. We provide more than $100,000 in annual teacher grants to provide technology, learning aids and other items that add to the ability for our teachers keep up with the technology across the world.
Given the growth of student enrollment in the district, it is essential we have the support of the community to make an impact on our schools. Without your help, our children will risk being at a disadvantage in an increasingly competitive world. We hope to count on your support of Blue Tie Night. Your participation will support the Foundation’s mission of promoting and funding the academic and artistic achievement of all students and teachers.
